  Note: (*s1)
    For this device class, no SAP documentation is available.

[Distribution]

This medium contains material needed for installation.

For SAP systems, the latest Device types supporting BOCR can also be downloaded
from the World Wide Web. Please contact Technical support.

================================================================================
[Limitations]

For limitations refer to the Limitations section in Part I of the User's Manual.
In addition, observe the following.

================================================================================
[Installation]

The product consists of 3 components.
For installation on the device, ask Technical support.
For installation of the BOCR Configuration Tool (BOCRCT) on the PC, refer to
 Part I of the User's Manual.
For installation on the issuing system, refer to Part II of the User's Manual.

Please observe any applicable Installation Notes below.

================================================================================
[Installation Note (*i1)]

If a minimum firmware version, as required per Service Manual Appendix A.3, is
 not yet available for download, please contact Technical Support.

================================================================================
[Installation Note (*i20)]

For Device classes [DC83],[DC84],[DC85], there was a preliminary version
BOCR v1.20 which was only to serve as a temporary workaround.
If it is installed at your site, for the sake of official support,
it needs to be eventually replaced by v2.00 or higher.

================================================================================
[Installation Note (*i17,*i19,*j02,*j07,*j13,*j14,*j16)]

In general, for the Installation or Upgrading of an HDD-based BOCR system on a
device, it is recommended to use the latest "install2_XX.pjl" file distributed,
which here is "install2_17.pjl".
Note, though, that legacy models have been tested only with older versions,
according to the following table, with the tags referring to the table above
and to Appendix A.4 in the Service Manual.
- (*i17): "install1_17.pjl"
- (*i19): "install1_19.pjl"
- (*j02): "install2_02.pjl"
- (*j07): "install2_07.pjl"
- (*j13): "install2_13.pjl"
- (*j14): "install2_14.pjl"
- (*j16): "install2_16.pjl"
These are still distributed for backward compatibility. In case of an issue,
 try reverting to the tested version, and confirm whether the issue persists.

================================================================================
[Installation Note (*F1)]

For the installation of BOCR on a device of Device class
{ [DC103], [DC107], [DC108], [DC110], [DC112], [DC113], [DC114], [DC115], [DC116],
 [DC117], [DC118], [DC119], [DC120], [DC121], [DC122], [DC123], [DC124], [DC125],
 [DC126], [DC127], [DC128], [DC129], [DC130], [DC133], [DC134], [DC135], [DC140],
 [DC141] } and all newer models, note that
the HD Directory List (part of the PCL Config. Page) fails to list both the
Status Indication Files and the folder "0:\pcl\ibs\" and its contents. Hence, these
cannot be used to check the status nor as a criterion for successful installation.
For more information, refer to [LIM44D] in the User's Manual (part I).
================================================================================
[Installation Note (*F2)]

For printing from recent Windows systems, it is recommended NOT to use the RPCS
Windows v4 Print Class driver. Instead, consider using one of the Ricoh
Universal Drivers (Windows v3 driver), e.g. PCL6. If still RPCS is desired and
used, note that a service call would occur on the device with IBS installed.
To work around that, a special "convert.ini" needs to be installed, which will
enforce passthrough mode. It is shipped as "RPCS_Passthrough.ini" in the "\tools\"
folder. It can be installed on the device via drag-&-drop onto "_upload_file.BAT"
(after configuring the device's IP address).
Please refer also to limitation [LIM47D] in the User's Manual (part I).
This only applies to convert v11.10 and lower.
